But some car enthusiasts favor hobbies as well “as the real thing” and literature. I must admit to being a die-cast model car collector. Some would say to a degree crossing the percentage of absurdity but they maintain a special place in this collector’s heart…
But so much about me, I am obviously not alone in the pleasure of model car collecting, the industry just keeps expanding. But in this instance, I want to share several of my pertinent favorites, Fiat 124 Spiders spanning the range of production including Abarth racing versions…
All are 1:18th scale die-cast models. The top left represents the premiere variant of the Fiat 124. This variant had a smooth hood. The middle top model is of the interim upgraded variant and the hood bumps were introduced. The top right model is of the 2000 fuel injected Spider variant, with enlarged hood bumps and saaiafety regulation compression bumpers. The bottom two models are of Abarth racing variants. The booklet mentioned on the preceding page offers details of all these variants (Such as the Fiat Dino and Coupe variants along with details on the Abarth racing cars and history).
